Sometimes you might need to remove/exclude certain products from showing up in your recommendation. For eg: Shipping protection, Gift Cards, Carry Bag, or certain collections altogether.
In this example, we will try to remove Free Gift and Shipping Protection products from our recommendations.
Exclusion rules can be configured for such products by following some simple steps mentioned below:
Step 1:
Go to the Control panel inside your campaign editor. Click on Exclude products from recommendation.
A new page opens up allowing you to set the exclusion rules based on
Product ID
Product Title
Tags
Price
Collection
Type
Category
Step 2:
Set unique rules for the products you want to exclude.
For eg, My shipping protection product is tagged as "Shipping Protection" and my Free Gift product is under the Product Type "Free Gift".
Note: Any products that satisfy the rules here will be removed from your recommendations, so it's always better to set rules that are unique to the products you want to remove.
You can easily set up these tags or check details about your products by going to your Shopify Admin > Products > Specific product editor > Product Organization
Step 3:
Click on Save once all the rules are added. Once you're done, all the products that satisfy the rules will be removed from your recommendations.
